Advanced Blues Chord Progressions: 16 Bar Blues
Blues players,guitarists and musicians playing other styles have always tried to find others ways of playing blues style without having to use the 12 bar blues. One way to this is try and play a 4 bar blues, or an 8 bar blues. But in these chord progressions you are really limited to a short chord progression without the typical blues changes. Of course you can make it sound like blues by trying to use blues chords and typical blues scales and phrases.
To keep some of the blues chord progessions musicians have tried to create different 16 bar blues chord progessions. The next one is one of the most popular ones because it is not that different, but it does not limit the singer or solo player to a 12 bar storyline. The chord progression in A is:
