Advanvanced Acoustic Blues Guitar Shuffle with the B6 Chord
In the previous lesson we played E and A chord blues shuffles using the open chord style that is used a lot on acoustic guitar. To complete our blues in E we now need to play a B chord shuffle. Now this is tricky. The B chord is a terrible chord to play, especially on acoustic guitar.
Next guitar sheet music/tabs show a possible of playing a B/B6/B7 guitar chord shuffle. This is not a great open chord example. But for a blues in E you need to compromise. The E and A chord are excellent open chords and the B is simply needed to play a 12 bar blues.
If you play a turnaround at the end you really need to play it once.
Now this type of chord playing is used on electric guitar because you need a lot of finger strength to play this chord. But once you can do it you can shift it up and down the neck and play any chord with this shuffle, Bb, C#, D#, etc..
The tricky part is the B6 to B7. Most guitarists use their ring finger to play a barre type chord on the lower part of the B6 chord and add their pinky for the 7th.
