These next exercises show how you can simply play along with a chord. The piano plays a C major 7th chord and the bass simply plays notes from the chord. Try playing these exercises from the sheet music and bass tab, and change the drum rhythm a few times. Try to listen how each note of the chord on bass sounds different when it is played with the piano chord.
You should be able to play these kind of exercises without practicing.
