Bass Rhythms: Octave Rhythms HOT tip!
In the previous lesson on bass guitar octaves we have looked at playing difficult octave rhythms on bass. But you may have noticed that it was difficult to mute the open string when playing the octave note. To play correctly you have to stop the low note from sounding when playing the octave note. Have a look at the next bass guitar tabs and sheet music.
This next example shows a way of playing octaves which makes it easier to mute the lower notes. It also will help you with placing your fingers on difficult positions.
