DigiTech Introduces GENETX, Technology at Winter NAMM
SALT LAKE CITY (Jan. 18, 2001) – DigiTech, a manufacturer of guitar signal processors, and division of Harman Music Group (HMG), a subsidiary of Harman International, announced today the unveiling of GENETX™, a quantum leap in guitar signal processing technology. GENETX™, transcends guitar amp modeling by allowing guitarists to create their own custom amp models; a term DigiTech calls “Hyper-modeling.”
GENETX™, gives the musician unprecedented control over instrument tone and sonic content through an intuitive user interface. A simple turn of the warp knob can create a virtually infinite array of tones and textures between any two known amplifier and cabinet models. Utilizing DigiTech’s AudioDNA™ chip for accelerated audio processing (see related press release), amp and cabinet models are broken down into basic building blocks and then recombined to form a new hybrid sound.
The new GNX1 GENETX™, guitar processor optimized for live performance, and the Genesis3, designed for studio recording applications, all feature the GENETX™, technology and GENEDIT™, the Editor/Librarian computer software (PC and MAC) for easy editing of parameters and programs.
