Guitar Notes Types: Note Length

Our note systems has different note types.

whole note 1 note/bar
half note 2 notes/bar
quarter note 4 notes/bar
eighth note 8 notes/bar
sixteenth note 16 notes/bar
thirty-second note 32 notes/bar
sixty-fourth note 64 notes/bar

The names should make some sense to you. You can also do basic calculations with these notes.

Examples:

A half note is the same length as two quarter notes

1/2 = 1/4 + 1/4

A whole note has the same length as 4 quarter notes

1 = 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4
