Guitar Tuning Theory
The guitar can be tuned in many different tunings. The guitar tuning is usually given a name for the 6 strings. Each string is tuned to a certain note.
Examples of guitar tunings

The first tuning is the standard tuning and means the guitar is tuned like this

But sometimes it is also written the other way around

E :lowest thickest guitar string
This might be a bit confusing but it is the same thing.
