More Bass Guitar Octave Riff Rhythm Exercises

To show you how the bass is used to create the rhythm in a song try to play the next exercises. This easy bass riff uses just one note the E and its octave E note. The higher notes create the rhythm accents while the lower notes created the beat.

Try to look at each bass sheet music and tabs before playing and try to think or sing in your head how it should sound before playing. The great thing about octave riffs is that the bass can really create the main rhythm accents, and not just the snare drum used in this rock rhythm.

If you have a lot of time on your hands try playing each exercise, or else just play 5 or 10 and move on the next exercises and lessons.
