The modern guitar tuning is tuning is: EADGBE. This type of tuning is used for most guitars.
The easy way to remember this is

So how do you tune your guitar to the E A D G B tuning?

Most guitar players start with the Low E string (thickest first), but some start with the thinnest string first.

You either play a note on a piano for example (or the included sound file in this course) and play the open string on your guitar.

If the note of the guitar is lower you have to tune it up.
If the note of the guitar is higher you have to tune it down.

Normally you keep on doing this.

Play the note
Adjust a little
Play the note again
Adjust the guitar string again
Play the note again
Adjust
etc.

After you have finished the first string you move on to the next string

Play the A note
Adjust a little
Play the A note again
Adjust the guitar string again
etc

and the next string
