Vox guitar strap promotion is a hit with mi retailers and consumers
Korg USA, exclusive US distributor for Vox guitars and amplifiers, ended the year 2000 with rave reviews from retailers and consumers for their unique "guitar strap" promotion in support of the Vox Cambridge 15,Cambridge 30 Reverb, and Cambridge 30 Reverb Twin amplifiers. The promotion, which ran from June 1st through December 31st, offered consumers a free, genuine leather Vox guitar strap simply by auditioning any of these new hybrid guitar amplifiers. During the promotion, Korg USA received thousands of request for the guitar straps.
Korg USA supported this promotion with national advertising and a wide array of eye-catching, in-store merchandising materials, which included a large, 3-color, retro-style banner; a life-sized, stand-up POP display; and an easel-style counter card with coupons for consumers to fill out when claiming their strap premium.
According to Larry Boggs at Music Sound World in Tulsa, OK, "We've experienced substantial sales growth for Vox products over the past year. One of the things I attribute this to is the sound and look of Vox products - they pretty much sell themselves. Another factor was the free Vox strap promotion. Traditionally, sales tend to soften in the summer, but that wasn't the case this year where Vox was concerned. After I set up the Vox POP materials, quite a few customers inquired about the promotion, either because they saw it advertised in one of the guitar magazines, or because the display caught their eye. With the help of our salespeople, many of these inquiries turned into sales."
