Yamaha Country Jumbo Guitars Offer Big Body, Big Sound
Don't let the name fool you. Yamaha's new Country Jumbo guitars are not designed specifically for country artists, but also for touring pros, church and acoustic musicians, singer/songwriters and finger pickers who require a big sound and upscale instrument that they can enjoy for years to come.
The latest additions to the Yamaha Handcrafted family, the CJ32 acoustic and CJX32 acoustic/electric will be shown at Winter NAMM and available February 2001. Built in the Yamaha Music Craft factory, these traditional, large-body instruments feature extra-wide profiles and deep bodies to provide increased volume and overall projection.
"The CJ32 and CJX32 are unique additions to the Handcrafted lineup," states David Bergstrom, director of marketing, Combo Group. "These are high-end products that fill the needs of anyone who requires an instrument with a distinctive sound and real presence."
The Country Jumbos produce a stunning bottom end that rivals most four-string instruments, resonating with every strum and pluck. A built-in System 41 pickup, combining an in-bridge piezo and gooseneck-mounted condenser microphone, produces the ultimate acoustic-electric sound for studio recording or live performance. Both feature a solid Spruce top, Maple neck, solid Maple back and sides and an Ebony fingerboard. A polyurethane/Sunburst finish makes these instruments aesthetically, as well as sonically, pleasing.
Pop superstar Edwin McCain, known for such chart-toppers as "I'll Be" and "I Could Not Ask for More," has joined the growing list of artists who are selecting the CJ Series to join their line-up of choice instruments.
"I had yet to hear an acoustic guitar produce such a big bottom end, until now," says Gary Cook, Guitar product manager. "Their sound will absolutely blow people away."
