Yamaha's popular GRX line fo electric guitars debuts new models

NASHVILLE–Yamaha Corporation of America introduces the RGX121S and the RGX420S/RGX420D6 to their popular RGX guitar line at Summer NAMM 2000. These new instruments feature great sound, popular pickup configurations and attractive price points that will suit the most demanding customers.
"We are reintroducing the RGX line with new additions that offer different features and options," states David Bergstrom, director of marketing, Combo Group, Pro Audio & Combo Division. "These guitars will provide our dealers with great instruments with price points that are perfect for the beginner or the advanced player."
The RGX121S offers a versatile pickup configuration (two humbucking and one single coil), sealed tuners and a user-friendly standard tremolo system, making it ideal for new players. It also features a Solid Alder body, Maple neck, Bubinga fingerboard and natural finish headstock, with black hardware and a satin black finish completing the look. The RGX121S will ship in September.
The RGX420S, a Solid Alder body guitar, features a double-lock tremolo system and popular pickup configuration (two humbucking pickups with no covers). Other features include an angled headstock, flat-shaped Maple neck and 24-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Available in a black matte finish and several gloss finishes, the RGX420S will ship in September.

Designed for today’s rock guitarist, the RGX420SD6 also makes its debut. This Drop 6 version contains the same features as the RGX420S, with the addition of longer scales and special string gauge for down-tuning. Players may tune to B below standard E without having to change right-hand attack and left-hand finger positions. This model will ship in September.
"These new RGX models will inspire a whole new generation of players," states Gary Cook, Guitar product manager. "Each guitar in the series, with its sound and system features, is ideal for either the novice or the professional."
